Targeted next-generation sequencing workflows benefit from flexible panel design, and this modular reagent system from QIAGEN lets researchers combine pre-designed gene pools into a single, customized sequencing run. Built on an amplicon-based library preparation chemistry, the V2 reagent set supports multiplex amplification of user-defined gene targets while removing the need to commit to a single fixed panel.

Each panel component is supplied as a pooled oligonucleotide mix in a tube format, ready to be combined in any user-defined combination to match a project's specific gene targets. The Mix-n-Match approach allows labs to scale from a small disease gene subset to a broader hereditary, oncology, or pathway-focused panel as research scope evolves. The library output is compatible with Illumina sequencing instruments and integrates with downstream secondary analysis through QIAGEN's bioinformatics tools, including QIAGEN CLC Genomics Workbench.

Typical applications include hereditary disease panel testing, cancer predisposition screening, pharmacogenomics research, and pathway-focused DNA sequencing where only a defined subset of genes must be interrogated at high sequencing depth. The reagent format is intended for use by trained laboratory personnel in established molecular biology facilities. For best performance, store the pooled primers at -20°C on arrival, protect them from light, and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve panel integrity across multiple sequencing runs.
