Fluprostenol, 10 mg

A metabolically stable analog of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α), offered by STEMCELL Technologies as a prostanoid pathway activator. It acts as a potent PGF2α receptor agonist, competitively binding to human and rat PGF2α receptors with IC₅₀ values of 3.5 and 7.5 nM, respectively. The chemical name is (+)-9alpha,11alpha,15R-trihydroxy-16-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)-17,18,19,20-tetranor-prosta-5Z,13E-dien-1-oic acid, also known as 16-m-trifluoromethylphenoxy tetranor Prostaglandin F2α, with a molecular formula of C₂₃H₂₉F₃O₆ and a molecular weight of 458.5 g/mol. Reported purity is ≥ 95%, and the material is supplied as a solution in ethanol.

Published research applications include: DIFFERENTIATION – the compound inhibits adipose differentiation of newborn rat adipocyte precursors in primary culture; DISEASE MODELING – it inhibits endothelin-induced contraction of the trabecular meshwork in bovine ocular tissue in vitro, a model of intraocular pressure in glaucoma. Storage: the product is stable at -20°C as supplied, should be protected from prolonged exposure to light, and remains stable for 12 months from the date of receipt.
