Fluprostenol, 1 mg

A metabolically stable analog of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as a prostanoid pathway activator that activates the PGF2α receptor. The active component is (+)-9alpha,11alpha,15R-trihydroxy-16-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)-17,18,19,20-tetranor-prosta-5Z,13E-dien-1-oic acid (CAS 54276-17-4), also known as 16-m-trifluoromethylphenoxy tetranor Prostaglandin F2α, with a molecular formula of C₂₃H₂₉F₃O₆ and a molecular weight of 458.5 g/mol. The product is provided as a solution in ethanol with a purity of ≥95%.

Published applications include inhibition of adipose differentiation of newborn rat adipocyte precursors in primary culture (Serrero & Lepak, 1997), and inhibition of endothelin-induced contraction of the trabecular meshwork in bovine ocular tissue in vitro, a model of intraocular pressure in glaucoma (Thieme et al., 2006). The product is stable at -20°C as supplied, should be protected from prolonged exposure to light, and is stable as supplied for 12 months from date of receipt.
