EZ1 RNA Tissue Mini Kit (48)

From QIAGEN, this kit provides automated purification of total RNA using magnetic-particle technology. It is designed for the isolation of total RNA from human and animal tissues, such as liver, spleen, and kidney, and from cells. The product is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease.

Processing is carried out on EZ1 or EZ2 Connect instruments from QIAGEN. The kit uses silica-coated magnetic-particle technology, with nucleic acids binding to the silica surface in the presence of a chaotropic salt. An integrated RNase-free DNase I digestion step removes genomic DNA contamination. Total RNA is eluted in 200 µl, 100 µl, or 50 µl, ready for use in downstream applications.

Reagents are supplied in prefilled and sealed reagent cartridges, reducing the risk of environmental contamination or RNase-mediated degradation. The kit supports purification of up to 10 mg of standard tissue samples, with yields of less than 30 µg. Typical applications include PCR, real-time RT-PCR, and microarray analysis. On the EZ2 Connect, 1–24 samples can be processed in a single run, while the EZ1 Advanced XL handles 1–14 samples per run, with a processing time of 40 minutes per run.
