EZ1 DSP DNA Blood Card

A preprogrammed protocol card from QIAGEN, designed to enable automated purification of DNA from blood samples. The CE-IVD-marked system uses proven magnetic-particle technology and is intended for in vitro diagnostic applications. The card is used with the EZ1 DSP DNA Blood Kit.

Designed for automated processing, the card works with the BioRobot EZ1 and EZ1 Advanced XL instruments. Prefilled and sealed reagent cartridges, combined with simple protocol selection and worktable setup, help prevent handling errors. Manual handling of potentially infectious samples is minimized, supporting user safety and reliable sample processing, and helping to reduce contamination risk for clinical and research workflows.

Purified genomic DNA obtained with the card and kit is ready for use in downstream diagnostic assays based on enzymatic amplification, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real-time RT-PCR, and genotyping, as well as human leukocyte antigen (HLA) and genetic testing. The system enables purification of DNA from 1–6 samples of human whole blood, with all processing steps — from piercing the reagent cartridge to elution — performed by the instrument.
