EZ1 DNA Tissue Kit (48)

Automated purification of genomic DNA from animal and human tissues is enabled by the QIAGEN EZ1&2 DNA Tissue Kit, which uses silica-coated magnetic-particle technology supplied in prefilled, sealed reagent cartridges. The kit contains all required reagents and labware for rapid processing of up to 40 mg tissue samples, with handbook protocols also covering buccal cells, cultured cells, dried blood, paraffin-embedded tissue sections, and bacteria in primary or culture samples. Tissues are first incubated in Buffer G2 containing proteinase K until lysed and homogenized, then loaded onto the instrument where genomic DNA is purified in a single automated step.

For automated processing, the kit is compatible with the EZ2 Connect (1–24 samples per run) and the EZ1 Advanced XL (1–14 samples per run); EZ1 Cards are preprogrammed with protocols that guide worktable setup and supply operating commands to the instrument. Presealed cartridges and a sensor-controlled lock help reduce environmental contamination. Eluted DNA is recovered in 200 µl, 100 µl, or 50 µl volumes and is suited for downstream applications such as PCR, real-time RT-PCR, and genotyping. The purification procedure takes 40 minutes per run, with yields of 9–28 µg. Reagent cartridges can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) until the indicated expiration date, and storage of Proteinase K at 2–8°C is recommended to prolong its lifetime.
