EZ1 DNA Investigator Card

QIAGEN provides the EZ1 DNA Investigator Card, a preprogrammed card that contains ready-to-use protocols for automated DNA purification from forensic and human identity samples. The card is designed for use with the BioRobot EZ1 workstation and is used together with the EZ1 DNA Investigator Kit.

It supports purification of DNA from forensic casework sample types, including epithelial cells mixed with sperm cells, where optimized pretreatment protocols precede fully automated DNA purification on the EZ1 instrument. The associated kit is produced under a quality management system and the kit meets ISO 18385 requirements. It is intended for molecular biology applications in forensic, human identity, and paternity testing, and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.

Using the card within the automated EZ1 workflow helps reduce hands-on time and supports downstream STR analysis and other human identification methods by delivering DNA extracts suitable for sensitive assays.
