EZ1 DNA Dried Blood Card

Dried blood spot (DBS) specimens archived on filter paper can be processed for downstream molecular testing using the QIAGEN EZ1 DNA Dried Blood Card, a single-use reagent cartridge. It runs on the EZ1 Advanced and EZ1 Advanced XL instruments, applying magnetic-bead silica technology to release and bind genomic DNA that is eluted in a small volume for downstream real-time PCR, genotyping, and newborn screening follow-up.

Each cartridge accepts a small punch from a dried whole-blood sample, simplifying handling of archived, transported, or field-collected specimens. The closed-cartridge layout minimizes cross-contamination risk and reduces hands-on time, supporting infectious disease screening workflows, surveillance programs, and reference laboratory testing.

Practical attributes: storage at 15-30°C (room temperature), a typical 3 mm DBS punch, single-use cartridge format, and compatibility with the EZ1 DSP Virus protocol workflows on the EZ1 Advanced XL platform.
