EZ1 DNA Blood 350 µl Kit (48)

QIAGEN offers an automated solution for purifying genomic DNA from whole blood and buffy coat samples using magnetic-particle technology. The kit is designed to work with both EZ1 instruments and EZ2 Connect instruments, giving laboratories flexibility across platforms. Magnetic-particle technology combines the speed and efficiency of silica-based DNA purification with the convenient handling of magnetic particles, enabling DNA to bind to the silica surface of the particles in the presence of a chaotropic salt.

The procedure accepts 200 µl or 350 µl blood starting volumes, with elution volumes of 50 µl, 100 µl, or 200 µl. Up to 24 samples can be processed in a single run. The process is fully automated — from opening of reagent cartridges to elution of nucleic acids — with no manual centrifugation steps required. Each kit includes prefilled, sealed reagent cartridges, disposable tip holders, disposable filter-tips, sample tubes (2 ml), elution tubes (1.5 ml), a Q-Card for reagent data tracking, and a Quick-Start Protocol.

Whole blood samples treated with EDTA, ACD, or heparin can be used, whether fresh or frozen; frozen samples should be thawed at room temperature (15–25°C) with mild agitation before processing. Reagents are shipped at ambient temperature and stored at room temperature (15–25°C); reagent cartridges must not be frozen. The kit is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.
