EZ1 DNA Blood 200 µl Kit (48)

QIAGEN's automated kit enables purification of genomic DNA from whole blood samples using silica-coated magnetic-particle technology. The 200 µl protocol delivers DNA ready for downstream applications such as PCR, real-time RT-PCR, and genotyping, and is processed on the EZ2 Connect instrument (1–24 samples per run) or the EZ1 Advanced XL (1–14 samples per run). Reagents are supplied in prefilled, sealed cartridges that ensure speed and convenience during loading, and the presealed design together with the sensor-controlled door lock reduce the chances of environmental contamination.

Each run uses 200 µl of whole blood as starting material, with elution volumes of 50, 100, or 200 µl. Reported yields range from 2.6–6 µg, with a run time of 15–20 minutes. The kit is shipped at ambient temperature and stored at room temperature (15–25°C); reagent cartridges should not be frozen. Buffers contain guanidine salts, so bleach or acidic solutions must not be added directly to sample-preparation waste.

The product is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention or treatment of a disease. Whole blood collected with EDTA, ACD, or heparin can be used, either fresh or frozen.
