EZ1 Advanced DNA Buffy Coat Card

This protocol card from QIAGEN is designed for the EZ1 Advanced automated platform. It enables extraction of genomic DNA from buffy coat fractions, providing efficient recovery from leukocyte-enriched samples. The resulting DNA is of purity and yield appropriate for molecular diagnostics and research workflows.

Used with the EZ1 DNA Blood 350 µl Kit, the card fits into the card slot of either the EZ1 Advanced or the EZ1 Advanced XL instrument to select the purification protocol without manual data entry. Throughput options support up to 6 samples per run on the EZ1 Advanced, or up to 14 samples per run on the EZ1 Advanced XL, with protocols completing in less than 20 minutes. Prefilled, foil-sealed reagent cartridges remain sealed until the protocol run is started, reducing the risk of contamination during setup, and an integrated UV lamp decontaminates the inner surface of the workstation between runs.

Bar code reading enables complete tracking of samples and reagents throughout the purification process, and reagent identification and lot numbers are logged together with the expiration date.
