EZ1 Advanced DNA Blood Card

From QIAGEN, this protocol card is designed for use with the EZ1 Advanced workstation to enable automated purification of DNA from blood and blood-derived samples. The card is inserted into the instrument's card slot and supplies preprogrammed protocols, removing the need for manual data entry when setting up nucleic acid purification runs.

When combined with the EZ1 DNA Blood 200 µl Kit or the EZ1 DNA Blood 350 µl Kit, the card supports reproducible DNA isolation using magnetic-particle technology. The card is part of a flexible system in which additional protocol cards can be acquired as laboratory needs expand, without requiring specialized training or costly instrument modifications.

The workflow involves three steps: insert the card to select the protocol, load samples along with prefilled foil-sealed reagent cartridges, and collect the purified nucleic acids. The EZ1 Advanced workstation can process 1–6 samples per run in less than 20 minutes, and bar code reading enables complete tracking of samples and reagents throughout the purification process.
