A variable-volume mechanical air-cushion pipette from Eppendorf, the Research plus 8-channel model offers a 30 to 300 µL range and is identified by its orange control button. Built around the Eppendorf PhysioCare Concept®, it is designed for accurate, easy, and ergonomic pipetting of aqueous solutions, with an ultra-lightweight construction intended to reduce hand and arm strain during use.

The pipette features a spring-loaded tip cone that achieves a secure seal with minimal tip attachment force, alongside low operating and tip ejection forces. Volume can be adjusted with one hand and is shown on a four-digit display. A secondary adjustment option allows temporary optimization for challenging liquids such as ethanol, or for pipetting at high altitudes, with the factory setting recoverable without full recalibration. Multichannel variants include channel indicators and allow individual channels to be removed as needed, while a quick connection clip lets the lower portion be detached in two steps for cleaning or servicing. The pipette is fully autoclavable, either as a whole or with just the lower part, supporting decontamination. Construction uses Fortron PPS for resilience against harsh liquids and cleaners, together with high UV and chemical resistance.

Typical applications include forward pipetting, reverse pipetting, removal of supernatants, sample mixing, phase extraction, and the filling of plates, gels, and reaction vessels. A 3-year warranty is offered on this model.
