Description

A mechanical air-cushion pipette from the Eppendorf Reference 2 series, this single-channel model offers a fixed 2 µL volume with a dark gray operating button and is designed for use with 10 µL tips in precise liquid handling workflows.

The design focuses on ergonomics, user safety, reliability and robustness over a long period of use. A single-button operation delivers fast, easy handling with reduced operating effort and active aerosol reduction that helps protect the user, the sample and the pipette itself. Clear haptic feedback helps avoid accidental tip ejection, and a 4-digit display with a magnifying window supports quick and secure volume setting and identification that is clearly visible from every angle, with a volume lock. A spring-loaded tip cone improves user-to-user reproducibility and lowers the tip attachment force, while the sturdy stainless steel handle protects the pipette from impact and, combined with spring-loaded bumpers, helps the instrument stay within calibration even if it takes a fall. A temporary adjustment setting allows accurate pipetting of different liquids or in changing external conditions without the need for a full calibration.

The smooth surface and full autoclavability of the unit ensure efficient decontamination, making it a suitable companion when working under sterile conditions. The Reference 2 line is available as a single-channel pipette in fixed or variable volume, as well as in 8- and 12-channel configurations; multi-channel variants offer an optionally switchable spring-loaded tip cone. Listed applications include forward pipetting, reverse pipetting, removal of supernatants, sample mixing, phase extraction, and filling of plates, gels, and reaction vessels.
