Eppendorf Reference® 2 8-channel, variable, 30 - 300 µL, orange

An Eppendorf mechanical air-cushion pipette designed for multi-channel liquid handling, with eight channels operating simultaneously. The variable volume range is 30 - 300 µL and is used with 300 µL tips, while the operating button is colour-coded orange. Single-button operation enables ergonomic handling with reduced operating effort and active aerosol reduction, and clear haptic feedback helps avoid accidental tip ejection.

The volume is set via a 4-digit display with a magnifying window that remains visible from every angle, together with a volume lock. A spring-loaded tip cone lowers tip attachment force and improves user-to-user reproducibility; on the multi-channel variants this feature can be switched on or off optionally. The smooth surface is fully autoclavable, supporting efficient decontamination when working under sterile conditions. A temporary adjustment option allows easy adaptation of the pipette for different liquids or changing external conditions without the need for a full calibration.

Stated applications include forward pipetting, reverse pipetting, removal of supernatants, sample mixing, phase extraction, and filling of plates, gels, and reaction vessels.
