Methylation analysis workflows depend on bisulfite conversion of genomic DNA to distinguish methylated from unmethylated cytosines. The QIAGEN EpiTect Fast DNA Bisulfite Kit completes this conversion in approximately 30 minutes, replacing the standard 16-hour overnight protocol with a rapid workflow suited to a single working day. Each kit supports 50 reactions and provides all reagents required for denaturation, sulfonation, and desulfonation in a streamlined, ready-to-use format.

The kit accepts 1 ng to 2 µg of input DNA from sources including whole blood, cultured cells, fresh tissue, and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, supporting downstream applications such as methylation-specific PCR, bisulfite sequencing, and high-resolution melt analysis. Converted DNA is suitable for direct use in PCR, sequencing, and array-based methylation profiling.

Components include Bisulfite Mix, DNA Protect Buffer, Carrier RNA, wash buffers, and elution buffer, organized into tubes and vials for benchtop convenience. Bulk reagents store at room temperature, simplifying routine lab handling, while converted template should be stored as a single use aliquot at -20 °C to preserve quality for repeated PCR set-ups. The shortened protocol reduces DNA degradation and improves recovery of converted template for downstream methylation studies.
