dPCR Copy Number Assay (1000)

Pre-validated primer mixes in this QIAGEN digital PCR kit enable absolute copy number calls for targeted genomic regions on the QIAcuity platform, supplied as 1000 reactions with both target and reference assays included.

The assay is built around intercalating-dye chemistry: a target amplicon and a reference amplicon are co-amplified in the same reaction, so the ratio of positive partitions directly yields gene copy number without standard curves. Researchers apply it to cancer gene amplification studies, deletion screening, mosaicism detection, and validation of next-generation sequencing CNV findings.

Workflow is straightforward: combine template DNA with 2x QIAcuity EvaGreen master mix and the dried primer mix, load onto a QIAcuity nanoplate, and run on the instrument. Typical input is 1–10 ng of purified genomic DNA per reaction. Store at -20 °C, protected from light, with stability maintained through multiple freeze-thaw cycles when aliquoted. Shipped in a single tube that may be held at room temperature during short-term transit.
