dPCR CGT Assay AMP resistance (HEX)

For molecular biology laboratories working with adeno-associated virus (AAV) particle preparations, QIAGEN offers the CGT dPCR Assay AMP resistance (HEX)—a wet-lab validated, 20x primer-probe mix that detects a gene sequence conferring resistance to ampicillin and carbenicillin in bacteria, enabling the detection of residual plasmid DNA in AAV preparations.

The assay is supplied as a ready-to-use 20x mix featuring double-quenched probe technology and is available in three fluorophore choices (FAM, HEX, and Cy5) for singleplex and multiplex viral vector titer determination. The HEX-format assay is designed for use with the QIAcuity Digital PCR System in combination with the QIAcuity Probe PCR Kit. It produces an amplicon of 100 bp and is compatible with the restriction enzymes Msp I, Hpa II, and Sma I. CGT dPCR Assays are also compatible with digital PCR instruments from other suppliers.

For optimal AAV vector titer determination, QIAGEN recommends combining the assay with the QIAcuity Probe PCR Kit and the QIAcuity dPCR system. The CGT dPCR Assays are shipped at ambient temperature and should be stored protected from light at −30 to −15 °C in a constant-temperature freezer. After reconstitution, the assays are stable for at least 12 months. The products are intended for molecular biology applications and are not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease.
