DNeasy PowerBiofilm Sample (2)

This QIAGEN evaluation pack is designed for DNA extraction from biofilm samples and uses silica spin filter tubes in a bead-beating workflow. The bead mix combines 0.1 mm glass, 0.5 mm glass, and 2.4 mm ceramic beads to lyse all processed biofilms, from cultured single-cell layers to microbial mats.

The kit accommodates a sample size of 0.05–0.20 g per preparation, offers a binding capacity of up to 20 µg per prep, and completes each prep in 25 minutes. Throughput supports 1–24 samples per run, and all reagents are stored at room temperature (15–30°C).

The evaluation format supports verification of lysis efficiency, inhibitor removal, and suitability for downstream PCR or sequencing workflows before scaling to larger kit volumes.
