DNeasy PowerBiofilm Kit (50)

This QIAGEN kit efficiently extracts inhibitor-free DNA from complex biofilm samples by pairing chemical and mechanical lysis with Inhibitor Removal Technology (IRT). IRT removes concentrated inhibitors such as humic acid, metals, salts, and pesticides typically present in biofilms, supporting higher yields of inhibitor-free DNA from all types of biofilms, including microbial mats.

Specifications: silica spin filter tube format with bead-beating processing; sample size 0.05–0.20 g; binding capacity up to 20 µg per prep; throughput 1–24 samples; 25 minutes per prep; storage at room temperature (15–30°C); suitable for all processed biofilms, from cultured single cell layers to microbial mats; bead mix of 0.1 mm glass, 0.5 mm glass, and 2.4 mm ceramic.

DNA purification using this kit can be automated on the QIAcube Connect. The product was formerly sold by MO BIO as the PowerBiofilm DNA Isolation Kit.
