CoV-2 SProt Pep Pool 2Vials

STEMCELL Technologies offers a SARS-CoV-2 (Spike Protein) Peptide Pool provided as two lyophilized mixtures (subpools) of peptides spanning the full-length SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, intended for immune cell activation research. Each subpool contains 158 peptides, for a total of 316 peptides, formulated as 15-mer peptides with 11-amino-acid overlaps that cover amino acids 1–1273 of the spike protein. The product is lyophilized as trifluoroacetate salts, with each peptide present at approximately 25 µg (15 nmol), and one unit is sufficient for stimulating 2.5 x 10^8 cells.

The spike protein mediates viral entry through interaction with the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor, and peptide pools such as this are used to stimulate antigen-specific CD4+ and/or CD8+ T cells in applications including vaccine development, immune cell monitoring, and diagnostic assay development. The product is prepared from SARS-CoV-2 (UniProt protein ID P0DTC2) and has an average purity of 70%. STEMCELL Technologies recommends warming the vial to room temperature (15–25°C) before reconstitution, adding approximately 40 µL of pure dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and diluting with water to the desired concentration. A final peptide concentration of ≥ 1 µg/mL is generally recommended for antigen-specific stimulation, and the final DMSO concentration must be kept below 1% (v/v) to avoid toxicity in the biological system.

For storage, the lyophilized product should be kept at -20°C and remains stable as supplied until the expiry date on the label. After reconstitution, aliquots should be stored at -20°C, protected from light, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. Combination of the two subpools after reconstitution is not recommended. The product is for research use only and is not intended for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic uses.
