BioSprint 15 DNA Blood Kit (360)

Designed for automated workflows on the BioSprint 15 workstation, this QIAGEN kit supplies magnetic-particle based reagents for purification of DNA from blood samples. The chemistry relies on MagAttract technology, combining silica-based nucleic acid purification with magnetic-particle handling, and delivers DNA suitable for direct use in downstream applications such as amplification or other enzymatic reactions.

The workflow accommodates a range of starting volumes: 100–300 µl human whole blood, 100–200 µl animal blood, less than 20 µl bird or fish blood (adjusted to 200 µl with Buffer AE), and 100–200 µl buffy coat. Reagents are loaded into 5-tube strips on the BioSprint 15 instrument, with one of three on-board protocols — "BS15 DNA Blood 100", "BS15 DNA Blood 200" or "BS15 DNA Blood 300" — selected to match the input volume. The procedure uses QIAGEN Protease, Buffer AL, Buffer AW1, Buffer AW2, Buffer AE, isopropanol and MagAttract Suspension G.

Unopened kits can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) for up to 1 year if not otherwise stated on the label. The same chemistry has been adapted by users for purification of DNA from stool samples (180–220 mg starting material) for pathogen detection, using the "BS15 DNA Blood 200" protocol; this user-developed application is not for use in diagnostic procedures.
