Configured for research use only, the QIAGEN Gene Expression Application Pack combines an automated nucleic acid workstation with matched RNA isolation chemistries to streamline lab-scale expression workflows. Built around a QIAsymphony SP-class benchtop instrument, the system performs magnetic-bead based total RNA extraction with integrated DNase treatment, accepts sample volumes up to 200 uL of stabilized lysate or cell suspension, and delivers eluates in 50 uL volumes ready for downstream RT-PCR, qPCR, microarray hybridization, or RNA sequencing library construction. The package targets laboratories handling cultured cells, stabilized whole blood, or tissue lysates at variable throughput, with each run logging barcoded sample IDs against the protocol used. Reagent cartridges are stored refrigerated prior to first use, while the onboard reagent bay keeps enzymes cool between cycles, and pathway software schedules runs and exports run-level metrics for LIMS tracking. Delivered as a single installation kit, the bundle includes the instrument, accessory racks, calibration reagents, and a starter consumables box whose contents are sized for the initial qualification run plus ongoing validation studies for core facilities establishing standardized gene expression pipelines.
