ZNF496 (Zinc Finger Protein 496), also referred to as NIZP1, is a C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor characterized by an N-terminal SCAN domain and a C-terminal KRAB domain. It interacts with the histone methyltransferase NSD1 and participates in transcriptional repression in mammalian cells. Expression of ZNF496 has been studied in neural tissue development and in glioblastoma and other cancer contexts, where immunological detection supports research into chromatin remodeling and downstream signaling pathways.

This polyclonal reagent was raised in rabbit and recognizes endogenous ZNF496 in samples from human, mouse, and rat. The product is supplied as 100 µl of purified IgG at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 15 mM sodium azide added as a preservative, buffered to roughly pH 7.2. Being unconjugated, the antibody can be coupled by the end user to biotin, fluorophores, HRP, or other detection tags. It is validated for Western blot (WB) analysis of the full-length zinc finger protein under denaturing conditions.

For Western blot workflows, researchers commonly separate cell or tissue lysates by SDS-PAGE, transfer to nitrocellulose or PVDF membrane, and probe with empirically determined dilutions, frequently in the range of 1:500 to 1:2000 depending on antigen abundance and detection chemistry. Store refrigerated for short-term use; aliquot and freeze at -20°C for longer-term storage, and minimize freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity. The sodium azide present in the formulation must be removed by buffer exchange or dialysis before live-cell labeling or in assays where azide interferes with enzymatic activity. Researchers using this reagent from Antibodies.com can pair it with standard anti-rabbit secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent or fluorescent Western blot readout.
