Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation in a 200 µl vial, this Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody targets the zinc metallopeptidase ZMPSTE24 (also known as FACE-1). The reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), with reactivity confirmed in human and mouse samples.

ZMPSTE24 (zinc metallopeptidase STE24 homolog, FACE-1) is an integral endoplasmic reticulum membrane metalloprotease that cleaves the C-terminal –AAX motif of prenylated prelamin A to generate mature lamin A. Loss-of-function of ZMPSTE24 prevents correct prelamin A processing, leading to accumulation of farnesylated prelamin A and is linked to progeroid disorders including mandibuloacral dysplasia and restrictive dermopathy, as well as to disrupted nuclear envelope integrity. The protein is a multi-pass zinc metalloprotease with multiple transmembrane segments embedded in the inner nuclear membrane and endoplasmic reticulum compartments.

This reagent supports investigation of prelamin A processing, lamin A maturation, and nuclear envelope biology in disease models and aging research. Western blot detection enables visualization of processed versus unprocessed lamin A isoforms, while immunohistochemistry allows tissue-level localization of ZMPSTE24 in human and murine specimens. The antibody is provided as a liquid vial suitable for working dilutions; store refrigerated and protect from light to maintain stability across repeated uses. For research use only.
