Anti-ZDHHC18 Antibody

From the Antibodies.com Primary antibodies range, this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent targets ZDHHC18 and is validated for Western blot (WB) applications. Reactivity is established against human samples, and the antibody detects endogenous levels of ZDHHC18 protein. The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human ZDHHC18. The reagent is formulated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 15 mM sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2. It was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using the epitope-specific immunogen, and purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE). The expected molecular weight of the target is approximately 42 kDa, and the antibody is of the IgG isotype.

ZDHHC18 belongs to a family of zinc-finger, DHHC-type containing proteins. Members of this family each contain one DHHC-type zinc finger through which they convey palmitoyltransferase activity against a broad range of substrates, including H-Ras, SNAP 25 and GABAA R proteins. The family functions as palmitoyltransferases, catalysing the conversion of palmitoyl-CoA and protein-cysteine to S-palmitoyl protein and CoA.
