Raised in rabbit against the palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC18, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com supports detection of the endogenous human protein by Western blot. ZDHHC18 is a zinc-finger DHHC-type enzyme that catalyzes S-palmitoylation of substrate proteins, a reversible lipid modification that governs membrane association, vesicular trafficking, and turnover of numerous neuronal and signaling substrates, including PSD-95-family scaffolds at excitatory synapses.

Supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antisera at 1 mg/mL in phosphate buffered saline containing 15 mM sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2. The antibody recognizes human ZDHHC18 and is validated for immunoblotting workflows, where it can be used to probe transfected overexpression lysates as well as endogenous expression in appropriate human cell lines. Investigators working on DHHC-family enzymology, Golgi-localized acyltransferases, or the regulation of synaptic palmitoylation in neurological disease models will find this reagent useful for confirming expression and assessing changes in ZDHHC18 abundance under different experimental conditions.

For best results, aliquot the vial upon receipt to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and store at -20 °C; the sodium azide already in the buffer serves as a microbial preservative, so the reagent can be added directly to standard immunoblotting protocols. Intended for research use only.
