This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against ZDHHC17, a palmitoyl acyltransferase (also known as HIP14, Huntingtin Interacting Protein 14) that catalyzes S-acylation of substrate proteins at cysteine residues and has been studied extensively in neuronal trafficking and in the context of Huntington's disease pathology.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied in a 100 µl vial of liquid and is validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous human target, where it recognizes the ~70 kDa band corresponding to full-length ZDHHC17. Because ZDHHC17 expression is enriched in brain tissue, this reagent is suited to lysate-based work on neuronal cell lines and post-mortem brain samples prepared under standard SDS-PAGE conditions.

Polyclonal reactivity across multiple epitopes of the human sequence allows flexibility in sample handling, and the IgG format supports straightforward detection with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent or fluorescence imaging. Researchers investigating palmitoylation-dependent regulation of synaptic proteins, huntingtin interactors, or DHHC-family enzyme biology can use this antibody to probe steady-state expression and to compare ZDHHC17 levels across experimental and control conditions.
