The YARS2 gene encodes the mitochondrial tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase, the enzyme that charges mitochondrial tRNA^Tyr with tyrosine during organellar protein translation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody, raised against YARS2, supports research into mitochondrial translation, oxidative phosphorylation biology, and MLASA2 (mitochondrial myopathy, lactic acidosis, and hearing loss type 2), a recessive disorder driven by compound heterozygous YARS2 mutations. Distributed by Antibodies.com as a polyclonal reagent in a 100 µl volume, it has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human and mouse samples, making it a useful reagent for studying mitochondrial aminoacylation, tissue-specific respiratory chain deficits, and genotype-phenotype work in patient-derived fibroblasts or knockout models.
