Anti-YARS Antibody

YARS encodes the cytoplasmic tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase, an aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase that charges tRNA^Tyr with tyrosine during translation. Heterozygous mutations in this gene cause dominant intermediate Charcot-Marie-Tooth neuropathy type C, linking the enzyme to peripheral-nerve maintenance in addition to its housekeeping role in cytosolic protein synthesis.
