Raised in rabbit against the XRCC6 protein (also known as Ku70), this polyclonal reagent targets the lysine 338 acetylation mark, a post-translational modification linked to regulation of DNA double-strand break repair and apoptosis signaling. Produced by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated primary antibody supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3.

Validated for Western blot detection of endogenous XRCC6 in lysates from human, mouse, and rat samples. K338 acetylation, mediated by the PCAF/KAT2B acetyltransferase, alters the protein's interaction with BAX and shifts the cellular balance between active non-homologous end joining and programmed cell death. The reagent is therefore useful for monitoring genotoxic-stress responses, chromatin-bound Ku complexes, and cellular outcomes following histone deacetylase inhibitor treatment in cell culture-based research use only workflows.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody, sufficient for multiple blot membranes at working dilutions typically in the 1:500 to 1:1,000 range. For long-term storage, aliquot and freeze; protect from light and limit freeze-thaw cycles, since the buffer contains sodium azide as a preservative.
