Offered through Antibodies.com, this affinity-purified rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against XRCC5 (also known as Ku80), the 86 kDa subunit of the Ku heterodimer involved in DNA double-strand break repair via the non-homologous end-joining pathway. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as a 50 µl liquid aliquot and is validated for Western blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) on human samples, with the expected target band migrating at approximately 82–86 kDa. As an IgG-class polyclonal raised in rabbit, it detects endogenous levels of total XRCC5 protein and is purified by antigen-affinity chromatography to >95% purity by SDS-PAGE. The immunogen corresponds to a region within the human XRCC5 sequence (amino acids 315–563, recombinant fragment), and the reagent is formulated in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), pH ~7.2, typically with 0.05% sodium azide as preservative. For short-term use it should be stored refrigerated at 2–8 °C; for longer-term storage, aliquot and keep at –20 °C to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Recommended working dilutions generally fall around 1:500–1:1000 for Western blot, 1:50–1:200 for IF, and 1:100–1:250 for IHC, although optimal dilutions should be determined empirically by the end user. This is a research-use-only product and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
