Anti-XRCC5 (8H1) Antibody

This mouse monoclonal antibody, clone 8H1, targets XRCC5 (also known as Ku80), the 80 kDa subunit of the Ku heterodimer that caps DNA double-strand breaks and recruits the DNA-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit during non-homologous end joining. XRCC5/Ku80 is a nuclear phosphoprotein required for V(D)J recombination, telomere end protection, and the cellular response to ionizing radiation. Clone 8H1 specifically detects human and monkey XRCC5, supporting studies of Ku80 expression levels, recruitment to DNA damage foci, and association with Ku70 and DNA-PKcs in chromatin fractions and nuclear extracts.
