XPA (Xeroderma Pigmentosum complementation group A) is a zinc-finger DNA damage recognition protein essential for the nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway, where it binds bulky helix-distorting lesions such as UV-induced pyrimidine dimers and recruits downstream repair machinery including RPA, XPC, and the TFIIH complex.
This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against human XPA and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. Supplied as a 100 µL liquid aliquot, the reagent detects endogenous XPA in human tissue sections and cell lysates, with the target appearing near its characteristic ~31 kDa molecular weight on immunoblots.
Investigators studying genotoxic stress, UV response, skin carcinogenesis, and Cockayne syndrome-related repair pathways use this reagent to map NER complex assembly at stalled repair sites, monitor XPA expression in patient-derived samples, and probe how chromatin context modulates lesion recognition in vitro and in vivo.
