Raised in rabbit and purified by antigen-affinity chromatography, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the extra-large XLalphas isoform (also known as GNAS, GNAS1, NESP55 or ALEX), the adenylate cyclase-stimulating G alpha protein encoded by the XL-exon. The immunogen corresponds to a recombinant fragment spanning amino acids 716–968 of human GNAS, and the antibody is validated for use in Western blotting (recommended dilution 1:500–1:3000) and immunohistochemistry on paraffin or frozen sections (1:100–1:250), with reactivity confirmed against human samples and a predicted molecular weight of approximately 111 kDa. Each vial is supplied at 100 µl in 0.1 M Tris-buffered saline, pH 7.0, containing 10% glycerol as cryoprotectant and 0.01% thimerosal as preservative, and is intended strictly for research use. The unconjugated format allows researchers to pair the antibody with their preferred secondary detection system or fluorescent label, and its polyclonal nature makes it well suited for detecting the multiple XLalphas variants expressed from the GNAS locus in neuroendocrine and other tissues.
