This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets XCL2, also referred to as SCM-1b, a small secreted chemokine of the XC family that signals through the XCR1 receptor on immune cells. The reagent is raised in rabbit and is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, with the working solution at approximately pH 7.3. It is unconjugated, allowing flexible downstream labeling depending on the experimental design. The antibody is validated for Western blot (WB) applications and has been shown to react with human, mouse, and rat samples, making it useful in cross-species expression studies of this chemokine. Each vial contains 100 µl of ready-to-use reagent. The target itself is a signaling peptide best known for its role in chemotaxis and immune cell recruitment, frequently studied in contexts of T cell and NK cell biology, mucosal immunity, and inflammatory disease models. Researchers commonly apply this reagent to whole-cell lysates and tissue homogenates to assess XCL2 expression patterns under different physiological and pathological conditions. Because XCL2 expression is highly restricted compared to other chemokines, this antibody is particularly useful as a tool for probing the contribution of this specific ligand to immune signaling networks.
