A rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com that targets WW domain-containing E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 2 (WWP2), a HECT-family ligase that directs protein substrates toward proteasomal turnover. The reagent is supplied as a 50 µl unconjugated IgG aliquot, affinity-purified for western blot detection of WWP2 in human and rat samples.

WWP2 drives ubiquitin-dependent regulation through its four tandem WW domains, which engage proline-rich PPXY motifs on substrates including Smad2, Smad3, Smad7, PTEN, and the pluripotency factor Oct4. Three isoforms (full-length WWP2-FL, N-terminal WWP2-N, and C-terminal WWP2-C) have been characterized, and the polyclonal format provides multi-epitope coverage that can improve signal detection across different WWP2 isoforms in cell line and primary tissue lysates. Published knockout mouse studies confirm WWP2 as a physiological ubiquitin ligase for PTEN, and the ligase also modulates TGFβ-driven SMAD2 signaling in cardiac fibrosis models.

Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with HRP, fluorophore, or biotin-conjugated secondary reagents to build custom western blot workflows. Handle the vial under cold-chain conditions: refrigerate upon arrival, aliquot working volumes, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity. The reagent is for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
