This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically targets WIPI2, a WD-repeat phosphoinositide-interacting protein that plays a pivotal role in early autophagosome biogenesis. WIPI2 binds phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate at the nascent phagophore and recruits the ATG12–ATG5–ATG16L1 conjugation machinery required for LC3 lipidation, linking class III PI3K signaling to canonical autophagy flux. Researchers commonly use this reagent to monitor autophagy induction, nutrient starvation responses, and membrane trafficking events in cultured mammalian cells and fixed tissue sections.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, the antibody detects endogenous WIPI2 in human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated IgG is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, shipped as a 100 µl aliquot suitable for multiple immunoblot or staining experiments. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes across the WIPI2 primary sequence, which improves tolerance for minor fixation-induced conformational changes and helps reduce the risk of signal loss in archival material. For short-term use, store refrigerated at 4 °C; for extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity.
