Wolframin, the transmembrane endoplasmic reticulum protein encoded by the WFS1 gene, plays a central role in ER calcium homeostasis, the unfolded protein response, and pancreatic beta-cell survival. Recessive loss-of-function mutations in WFS1 cause Wolfram syndrome (also known as DIDMOAD), a multisystem disorder characterized by juvenile-onset diabetes mellitus, progressive optic atrophy, sensorineural deafness, and diabetes insipidus, while selected heterozygous variants have been linked to non-syndromic autosomal dominant hearing loss. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against WFS1 and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, enabling detection of the endogenous protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. The reagent is unconjugated and supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, presented as a 100 µl aliquot ready for repeated use across immunolabeling experiments.
