Wolframin, the protein encoded by the WFS1 gene, is a transmembrane glycoprotein that resides in the endoplasmic reticulum and helps maintain cellular calcium homeostasis. This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody, supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml solution in phosphate buffered saline (pH ~7.3) with 0.05% sodium azide, binds the endogenous target in human, mouse, and rat samples.
Researchers investigating Wolfram syndrome (DIDMOAD), ER stress signalling, and pancreatic beta-cell biology commonly probe WFS1 expression by Western blot. The unconjugated format allows pairing with HRP-conjugated or fluorophore-tagged secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection on whole-cell or tissue lysates.
Aliquot upon receipt and refrigerate at 4 °C to preserve activity; avoid freeze-thaw cycles. For research use only.
