Raised in rabbit against the WBSCR11 target, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µL of liquid at 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a formulation that supports short-term storage at 4°C and long-term storage at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw damage to the IgG fraction.
WBSCR11, also referred to as GTF2IRD2, maps within the Williams-Beuren syndrome critical region on chromosome 7q11.23, and detecting its protein product in primary tissue samples is a recurring need in cytogenetic and neurodevelopmental research. The antibody has been validated for two complementary readouts: Western blot, where bands from lysates of human, mouse, and rat origin can be visualised with standard HRP-based or near-infrared secondaries, and immunohistochemistry, where it is applied to fixed paraffin or cryosections to localise expression within tissue architecture.
Reactivity spans human, mouse, and rat samples, making it a practical option for cross-species studies of Williams syndrome models. The polyclonal host format means multiple epitopes on WBSCR11 are recognised, which can improve signal when the target is expressed at low abundance or when working with partially denatured lysates. Because the reagent is unconjugated, end users are free to pair it with HRP, biotin, fluorophore, or gold labels according to their detection chemistry.
Recommended handling includes brief equilibration to room temperature before use, protection from light for the glycerol-containing stock, and centrifugation of the vial prior to withdrawing an aliquot. The 100 µL volume at 1 mg/mL provides enough reagent for dozens of Western blot membranes or several hundred immunohistochemistry slides, depending on the working dilution chosen for each application.
