Raised in rabbit against the D186 epitope of human WASF3, this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com detects WAVE3, a WASP-family verprolin-homologous protein that activates the Arp2/3 complex to drive actin polymerization at the leading edge of migrating cells. Because WAVE3 (also called WASF3) is frequently overexpressed in invasive tumors and has been linked to epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition and metastatic spread, the antiserum is widely used to study cytoskeletal remodeling in breast cancer, glioblastoma, and other malignancy models.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse specimens. Typical workflows include probing endogenous WAVE3 in cell lysates, characterizing protein expression in tumor xenograft sections, and analyzing knockout or transgenic mouse tissues to investigate lamellipodia formation, cell motility, and downstream metastatic signaling pathways. The vial should be stored refrigerated; the 0.05% sodium azide acts as a preservative, and small aliquots can be prepared to minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Because no secondary conjugate is included, users pair the antiserum with their preferred HRP- or fluorophore-labeled detection reagent for IHC and Western blot applications.
