Anti-VSNL1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against visinin-like protein 1 (VSNL1), this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 50 µl vial of unconjugated, affinity-purified antiserum validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples. The target is a ~22 kDa neuronal calcium-sensor of the recoverin/NCS family, also known as VILIP-1 or HLP3 (UniProt P62760), which binds intracellular calcium through four EF-hand motifs and modulates signalling cascades linked to neuronal differentiation, cytoskeletal remodelling, and receptor trafficking.

VSNL1 is broadly expressed in cerebellum, hippocampus, and cerebral cortex, with additional detection in retinal and selected peripheral tissues, and altered levels have been investigated as a biomarker candidate in glioma, neuroblastoma, and other tumour models. On western blots the antibody labels a band near the predicted 22 kDa marker across human, mouse, and rat brain lysates; in fixed tissue it is compatible with both heat- and enzyme-mediated antigen retrieval on paraffin-embedded and frozen sections. The unconjugated format pairs cleanly with HRP-conjugated secondaries for chemiluminescent detection on nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes, or with fluorescently labelled secondaries for multiplex immunofluorescence. For best stability, store refrigerated at 4 °C; aliquoting is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve reagent activity across longer experiments.
