Anti-VSNL1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified against recombinant human VSNL1, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com detects the ~22 kDa visinin-like protein 1 (VILIP-1) in neuronal lysates and tissue sections. The antibody is supplied at 100 µl, sufficient for multiple Western blot and immunohistochemistry runs, and is validated for cross-reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples at the endogenous protein level. VSNL1 is a member of the neuronal calcium-sensor family that binds membranes in a calcium-dependent manner and modulates adenylyl cyclase signaling, with the strongest expression reported in cerebellar granule cells and Purkinje neurons. Researchers have used anti-VILIP-1 reagents to investigate VSNL1 as a candidate cerebrospinal fluid biomarker for neuronal injury, with elevated CSF VILIP-1 reported in Alzheimer's disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, and ischemic stroke.
