This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets VSIG8 (V-set and immunoglobulin domain-containing 8), a type-I transmembrane protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily that carries a single extracellular IgV-like domain. The antibody is raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse specimens.

VSIG8, formerly listed as C11orf24 on chromosome 11q24.1, is expressed in a restricted set of tissues including testis, brain regions and select epithelia, and recent immunological work has identified it as a putative binding partner of the VISTA/PD-1H checkpoint receptor on myeloid and antigen-presenting cells. Reports have also documented elevated VSIG8 transcript and protein levels in several solid tumour microenvironments, which is why immunoblotting and IHC with this reagent are commonly used to map stromal and infiltrating immune-cell populations in fixed tissue sections or whole-cell lysates. The polyclonal format maximises the chance of recognising the native extracellular portion of the target across orthologues from the two reactive species.
