This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognises the phosphorylated serine 56 (Ser56) epitope on vimentin, a type III intermediate filament protein whose post-translational modification state governs cytoskeletal remodelling during mitosis, cell migration, and the epithelial–mesenchymal transition. Raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (approximately pH 7.2) with 0.05% sodium azide, the reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. The 100 µl pack supports exploratory studies where phospho-site occupancy is tracked across treated versus untreated cohorts, including mitotic synchronisation experiments, scratch-wound migration assays, and tumour invasion models. Because phosphorylation at Ser56 redistributes vimentin between soluble and filament pools, the antibody is commonly paired with total vimentin blots to normalise site-specific signal, and it has been used to follow Aurora-B–driven phosphorylation dynamics in dividing cells. Aliquot upon arrival and store refrigerated; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity across the standard shelf life.
