Vimentin (VIM) is a 57 kDa type III intermediate filament protein widely used as a marker of mesenchymal cells and a hallmark of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in development, fibrosis, and tumor progression. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows. Cross-reactivity is reported with human, mouse, and rat samples, making it a practical choice for translational studies of cytoskeletal remodeling, fibroblast activation, cancer cell invasion, and stem cell characterization. The polyclonal format binds multiple epitopes on the vimentin molecule, supporting detection in fixed and frozen tissue sections as well as cell lysates prepared for in vitro analysis. Store refrigerated and protect from light, limiting freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity across long-term use.
