Affinity-purified rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against a recombinant human VIM (vimentin) protein, supplied by Antibodies.com as 50 µL of unconjugated reagent in PBS pH 7.30 with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The antibody is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence, with recommended working dilutions of 1:500–1:1000 for western blot, and 1:50–1:200 for both IHC and IF.

Vimentin is a 55 kDa type III intermediate filament protein expressed in mesenchymal cells, and this reagent cross-reacts with the human, mouse, and rat orthologues, supporting comparative studies across species. On western blots, it produces a clean band near the 55 kDa marker; in immunofluorescence and IHC, it reveals the characteristic cytoplasmic filament network used to score mesenchymal lineage commitment, stromal remodeling, and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition status in tumor and fibrosis models.

The unconjugated format allows free pairing with HRP-conjugated, fluorophore-labeled, or biotinylated secondary antibodies, making the reagent easy to drop into multiplex co-staining panels — for example alongside cytokeratin markers to characterize EMT dynamics in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, cultured cells, or frozen tissue. Each vial is affinity-purified and quality-controlled on cell lysates, helping ensure batch-to-batch reproducibility for research use only applications in cancer biology, developmental studies, and regenerative medicine workflows.
