The Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) tumor suppressor protein is the target of this rabbit polyclonal reagent, supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated primary antibody validated for Western blot detection of the human, mouse, and rat protein. VHL functions as the substrate-recognition subunit of an E3 ubiquitin ligase complex that targets hydroxylated HIF-alpha subunits for proteasomal degradation under normoxic conditions, making antibodies against it widely used in studies of hypoxia signaling, clear cell renal cell carcinoma biology, and hereditary VHL syndrome research. The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a glycerol-rich buffer that supports storage at -20 degrees C and limits freeze-thaw damage during repeated Western blot experiments. Provided as a 100 ul aliquot, this polyclonal reagent offers broad epitope coverage suited to detecting endogenous VHL in whole-cell lysates and tissue homogenates across the three listed reactive species.
