Anti-VGF Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets VGF, a neuropeptide precursor originally identified as a nerve growth factor-responsive gene product in PC12 cells. VGF is expressed in central and peripheral nervous system neurons as well as in neuroendocrine cells, where the full-length precursor is processed into several bioactive peptides implicated in energy balance, pain modulation, synaptic plasticity, and neuroprotection.

Supplied as an unconjugated antiserum in a 100 µl vial, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). It detects endogenous VGF in human and mouse samples, supporting studies of neuroendocrine signaling, metabolic regulation, and neuronal injury models. The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes along the precursor, so both full-length VGF and selected processed peptide fragments can be resolved in tissue lysates and fixed sections.
